Nets vs 76ers Recap: Streak Continues

The Nets opened up with 4 turnovers but that didn't seem to be detrimental. Deron Williams started off hot, hittng two three pointers and another field goal. Despite the few erratic jump-shots from Gerald Wallace and Reggie Evans, the Nets were shooting 50 percent from the field for most of the first quarter. Jrue Holiday, who is having a all-star year, kept the 76ers around with penetration and three pointers having a total of 11 points and 6 assists for the quarter. Williams would net 11.

Kris Humphries would make an appearance late, but Andray Blatche would carry the team in his eight minutes scoring 8 points. But, the Nets were just trading baskets with the 76ers. It looked like the Nets were trying to match the 76ers but they were turning the ball over. They managed to only be down by two, until Williams and Brook Lopez re-entered changing the jump-shot heavy offense to a balance. The Nets would lead at the half by one even though they shot 38 percent versus the 76ers 50 percent. The difference favoring them was the 12 out of 13 free throws made.

Lopez, Williams and Wallace helped push the Nets to a seven point lead, causing Doug Collins to take a timeout in the second half. Joe Johnson would put that up to ten and they would continue to fire on jump-shots. Two turnovers by Holiday helped and everyone on the Nets was hitting. They had a lead at twenty-one and Reggie Evans grabbed a career high 23 rebounds. The 76ers couldn't make anything and their defense wasn't working so they went to a zone. That didn't work but both teams would trade baskets, keeping the lead at twenty for the Nets.

Mirza Teletovic came off the bench firing, making two out of three from deep. He just added to the large lead and at this point, it looked like the crowd was just waiting for the game to end. Blatche continued to play well and his play carried the team towards the end. Tornike Shengelia and the rest of the bench would come in and provide productive minutes. This game was just an complete anniliation. Even though they were Bynum-less, the Nets took care of business adding on to the streak.Deron Williams was the leading scorer at 22.
