Reports of Kobe and Dwight Feud Fuel New Trade Rumors

After a report of an altercation that almost became physical between Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard, the Dwightmare has begun to resurface. Reports of the fight have caused rumors that the Nets and Lakers could begin trade talks revolving around Dwight Howard and Brook Lopez. This was reported by ESPN New York.

As we all know, Dwight Howard made his intentions of playing in Brooklyn very clear last season while with the Orlando Magic. He voiced that the Nets were his preferred destination. But instead he was traded to the Lakers. After a 15-18 start so far this season, frustration has reportedly begun to boil over in the locker room. A tweet by Kobe Bryant expressed the complete opposite of this, though. He tweeted a picture of himself and Dwight pretending to fight with Head Coach Mike D'Antoni in the middle trying to break it up.

Brook Lopez was asked about these trade rumors and responded with  "It is what it is. I've said how I've dealt with it before. Even when this was a nonissue for the months or whatever the season has gone on, I didn't read any of the media stuff that anyone put out."

"I don't really know what to say that would be new, honestly," Lopez added. "It's the same old for me, you know?"

Chad Ford of ESPN reported that Dwight still wants to play in Brooklyn. But given the Nets salary cap situation, that is impossible unless a trade happens. Billy King previously offered the Orlando Magic Lopez, Kris HumphriesMarShon Brooks and four first-round draft picks in exchange for Howard, but Orlando would go on to decline the offer. Whether or not Los Angeles would accept a similar trade is unknown.
