Nets Drop Third Straight, Fall to Blazers

Brook Lopez

The Nets dropped their third consecutive game Saturday night in a 97-87 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, who were without two starters in LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum.

The Nets were dreadful from behind the arc tonight shooting a woeful 1/19 from beyond the arc with Deron Williams hitting the only three when the game was pretty much already over.

Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez combined for 72 of the Nets' points. The rest of the team combined for a grand total of 15 points. Just an all-around embarrassing effort from Brooklyn's bench.

Williams totaled 19 points and 6 assists, Lopez had 21 points going up against his twin brother Robin Lopez and Johnson added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Garnett added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Brook is now 3-5 in his career all-time against his twin brother Robin. The Nets came out flat early on, They missed open three after open three. They were flat the entire first half never able to get their offense going. Portland and Brooklyn both started off slow but the Blazers eventually got it together,

Damian Lillard finished with a game-high of 28 points and 10 assists on 8/14 shooting. The Nets weren't hoping for an 0-3 west roadtrip but that's exactly what they got with losses to Phoenix, Golden State and now Portland. They entered the roadtrip with a 4-2 record, they go home with a record of 4-5.

Next up for Brooklyn will be back in Brooklyn Monday night against the Miami Heat.
