Nets at Bobcats Recap: Much Needed Win

P.J. Carlisimo finally made an decision on a rotation Wednesday morning. Reportedly, Kris Humphries was the odd man out and Mirza Teletovic would take his minutes. MarShon Brooks also was the final man to make it. Despite all the attention towards that,Deron Williams did demand a win since they have lost 4 out of 5 games recently.

First Half: Brooklyn came out and made their first three possessions but struggled after that. One of those layups was an post up basket off the glass by Reggie Evans, which is an rarity. Charlotte's shooting percentage at 73 caused P.J Carlesimo to take a timeout.  Three consecutive three pointers were made and the Bobcats lead withered away quickly.They also forced two shot clock violations in a row and a couple more turnovers that led to points. Teletovic ,Keith Bogans and MarShon Brooks entered the game and produced but Brooks did turn the ball over twice.  There turnover number was 12 for the half. Ben Gordon, the player who enticed the Nets scored 12 points in the second quarter. Team play ceased to exist for both teams but it was ineffective for the Nets. They eventually would find themselves down 10. Williams led the team with 7 points. The Bobcats outscored the Nets 30 to 10 in the paint and Lopez had only two shots.


Second Half: Brooklyn opened up with an 8 to 0 run. They eventually took the lead and looked like the better team. Joe Johnson scored on mostly isolation's, but he was on fire with a total of 10 in the quarter. They outscored the Nets 28 to 9 in the quarter which was backed by the Nets three best players. Deron Williams lead the charge throwing dimes and hitting open jump-shots but the defense was key. The Bobcats only scored 9 in the third quarter and shot 22% from the field in the fourth quarter. Joe Johnson finished with 22 points and led the three point frenzy with five of them. The bench players did not play much in the half but Toko Shengelia played for the second time this season. Gerald Wallace missed numerous lay-ups but ended up blocking 5 shots.
