Voluntary Workouts Impress Kidd

Deron Williams decided to continue his team workouts in the off season and most importantly, his new teammates were there. Since Paul Pierce lives in California, the convenience of hosting the workout there is perfect for bonding. Not only were the starters there but role players such as Shaun Livingston, Mason Plumlee, and others . The 12 second video on instagram did not show much but it still impressed head coach Jason Kidd.

To be able to start gelling and getting to know each other is good, because it is kind of a different team.“For the young guys, Mason [Plumlee] and [Tyshawn Taylor], to be out there, [Garnett] and Paul and Joe, it just shows that these guys are going in the right direction, and being very professional. I know during the summer time they could do something else, but to come together for a couple days shows that they’re trying to get ready and they want to win.”

“Williams had to put in a lot of work to get the guys to meet in one area,” Kidd said, “but I think it just shows his growth, and that he’s serious about winning.”

Jason Kidd also spoke on the new coaches that will be complete the staff. The coaches are John Welch, Joe Prunty and Charles Klask who possess years of experience.
Welch from [being in] Denver with George [Karl], he understands both sides of the ball. Joe Prunty, again, he’s been in the league a long time … I was with him shortly in Dallas, but he understands what it takes to win, and Charles, he’s a numbers guy and brings a lot to the table.
“I think I’ve got the people I wanted to help me understand what it takes to be a coach in this league.”

The Nets are making all the right moves from getting Brook Lopez healthy to making strong moves with the personnel. As of now all of the hype is wonderful for this franchise. Everyone is talking whether its in favor or against this team but Brooklyn's brand is thriving in the limelight. Its only left for the players to come together because everything else will be easier. Williams doing these types of workouts are a good start but there is much more serious work to do.
