Brooklyn Nets not ready to start over, yet

Despite the win of the lowly Milwaukee Bucks, the Brooklyn Nets still sit amongst the bottom feeders of an already weakened Eastern Conference. The has just 10 wins in 29 games and is becoming less relevant in the NBA with each passing day. The blame has fallen on both the coaches for failing to get plays that work and the players for failing to use their passion and talent to produce wins. Does a lineup consisting of Deron Williams, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce look like a team that should be sinking in the Atlantic?

Yet, the team is not ready to push the panic button yet. While fans may voice their opinions on blowing this team up and preparing for the future, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News reports that the font office is not going to blow it up just yet.
GM Billy King was asked by reporters whether he would consider blowing up this expensive roster and project.
“Not at this point,” he said on Tuesday. “We’re not there.”
By saying that the situation that the team is in has not escalated enough leads to the implication that the team could be looking to restart closer to the trade deadline, when more players are on the trading block. The team has already reached the point where respected journalist Adrian Wojnowski is reporting hostility and imbalance within the Nets locker room.

Will the the team reach that point where the front office and Mikhail Prokhorov have had enough is yet to be seen, hopefully never. The team has the talent to create wins and with the NBA as a whole suffering from several major injuries and an Eastern Conference lacking competition, the Nets should be able to make the playoffs if they can right the ship. If not, the best option may very well be to start over.
