In case anyone was unclear, the Brooklyn Nets are Jason Kidd's [expletive] team.
New details have surfaced in the quarrels that eventually led to Kidd's demotion of highly sought after assistant coach Lawrence Frank. According to a report by NBA.com's David Aldridge, Kidd one day exploded at Frank during a game film session.
Aldridge cites a "team source," who says that Kidd was doing his best to take a firm grasp of control over the team, but felt he was being undermined by Frank, who "wouldn't stop talking," another source said.
According to the source, Kidd then blew up at Frank.
"Sit the [expletive] down!" Kidd yelled. "I'm the coach of this [13-letter expletive frequently employed by one Samuel L. Jackson] team! When you're on the bench, don't [expletive] move!"
Was this just an ordinary case of butting heads, or does it point to deep seated frustration within the organization as the team has started the season in a tailspin?
Either way, the breaking of this news comes at an inopportune time for the Nets. Coming off a win against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Nets briefly earned some solace from media attention and jokes from radio pundits. Flying under the radar was a welcome change for the Nets, who face off against the Boston Celtics tonight. But with news of Kidd's blowup blowing up, will the Nets become distracted once again and spoil the return of Deron Williams and possibly Paul Pierce to the lineup?
