The center for the Detroit Pistons, who allegedly was going to retire will look to return this year.
Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports that Wallace has changed his mind and would like to play in the 2012-2013 season.
The question now is for which team?
There is no reporting or any hints given that would help determine who is interested in him, but Washburn reports that the Pistons are an unlikely destination for him as they look to develop their young big men. Wallace averaged 1.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game in 2012, possibly the worst year in his career, depending how you look at it. Statistically he played worse, but health-wise he was just fine, playing for the entire condensed season.
At thirty-eight years old, not many teams will chase too hard for him, but he is a proven player. The Nets have been in search for a backup center for some time now, with Andray Blatche being the early candidate.
Could Wallace come into the picture?
He certainly fits the bill, a tough defender and rebounder would be a great player to have playing behind Lopez. The only concern is age, but he could very well be the best option for the Nets, and some other teams as well.
It would also depend on how much Wallace wants to be paid.
