76ers Make Smart Move

Ever since I saw the play when Andrew Bynum dunked on Shaq, I knew Andrew Bynum would be special. Sadly, him and his knees are keeping us from seeing him blossom . Every year, Bynum makes sure his knees are ready to go by taking the Synvisc injections, which is basically joint lubricant. Jrue Holiday and Evan Turner are now going to have to step up since he is being shut down for precautionary reasons.

Bynum on his knee:
"I didn't go down [to the floor in pain], it was just an up-and-under [move]. I didn't feel any pop or anything like that. It just kind of buckled. From that point on, we're just being really cautious and just using the doctor and listening to them, and they've basically been saying to let it rest and everything will be fine, and I'll be all right."
"I don't feel pressure, but psychologically, I feel like it stinks not being able to play," he said. "It's tough to come in and stay motivated and things like that. My teammates are there patting me on the back and wanting me to get back. That helps. Coach [Doug Collins] has been a great person for me to talk to. Everything is about the big picture."
The 76ers are doing the right job in letting Bynum rest. There is no need to risk an injury to the best and most important player on the team. On the bright side, Jrue Holiday is a very good defensive  point guard who can also score . His swing man Evan Turner, showed us flashes of a  potential star last year . Since Andre Iguodola is gone, Turner will have more opportunities to score and facilitate, which can turn out to be a breakout season for him.  Nick Young can flat out score and will light up defenses from behind the arc without a conscious. Doug Collins will have his team compete and play solid but lets hope  Andrew Bynum comes back healthy so we can see the real 76ers.
