Brooklyn Nets coach Avery Johnson and Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins have been named the November Coaches of the Month. The Grizzlies are currently holders of the best winning percentage in the NBA having won 80% of their games thus far. But in November, the Grizzlies lost just one game, and won a total of 12, equating to a win percentage of 92.3%. Their other two losses came just before and just after November.
The Brooklyn Nets, although not the best in the Eastern Conference, have had their best November in its history. Avery Johnson led the team to an 11-4 record, which is a 73.3% winning percentage. After being the bottom dwellers for the past few years, the revived Brooklyn squad has been coached to a top three seeding in the Eastern Conference, behind only the Miami Heat and New York Knicks.
