LeBron James: Nets Quit on Avery

It has been speculated that the Brooklyn Nets quit on former coach Avery Johnson.  Deron Williams was to blamed due to his history and open criticism about the team's play. The NBA world was confused on why  after being the coach of the month prior to his leave. The team struggled in December after the hot start and  the organization chose to blame the team's play on Avery.

Many people believe that their was some type of conspiracy going. During the all-star selection, NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said the reason for zero selections for the Nets players was an act of avenging the team for Avery Johnson.

 Now, its LeBron James :

“They are not doing anything different. They are playing with more passion, more together, they are playing like they want to play for their coach" James said. “It sucks that Avery had to take the hit of them not wanting to play at a high level, but that's what it looks like to me. They haven't changed their offense, they haven't changed their defense. They've picked it up in intensity level and you can tell they like to play for PJ.”

In a interview with SiriusXM radio, P.J. Carlesimo basically said the same thing:

" its the same methods, referring to the same defense and offense terminology"

It was obvious that the Nets weren't responding to Avery Johnson and right now it seem that it was the best move since the team is back to winning most of their games. The notion of "quitting" on Avery holds more weight now but it's time to move on.

The team faces the Miami Heat tonight which should be a fun match up. Hopefully, the Nets can beat the champs and build some extra confidence on beating the elite.
