Nets at Celtics Recap: Big Three Dominates

The Nets came into Boston and struggled playing their game. They turned the ball over 4 times and gave up wide open threes to Paul Pierce. Brandon Bass connected on his first four shot and one of them was a dunk on Brook Lopez. Boston went up to an eight point lead but the Nets finished with a 10 to 2 run. Joe Johnson  scored 7 and C.J. Watson hit two three pointers to take the lead. Deron Williams came out assertive and dominated the paint for the rest of the half. He lead the Nets to 14 straight points and a 10 point lead to end the half. The Brooklyn back-court combined for 27 points. The bad news was Gerald Wallace getting carried off due to an left heel contusion. He was ruled out at halftime.

One of the keys in this game was getting Avery Bradley in foul trouble. He had 4 fouls and only played 12 minutes out of the whole game.

With that the Nets took advantage. Williams and Johnson continues shooting well and Jerry Stackhouse chipped in. He made a quick 5 points and helped the Nets maintain an 11 point lead. Lopez continued to score as well and Boston couldn't handle the big three in the third quarter. Williams also dished 7 assist in that quarter. The rest of the half was dominated by the Nets. The big three combined for 70 points out of 101 and shot 89% from the free-throw line. Paul Pierce finished with 23 but did not get any help until late in the fourth quarter. The Nets played a great game specifically on defense. This type of play will definitely get them to at least the second round of the playoffs. Hopefully, the team will be a little healthier by then.
