Kevin Garnett: Defensive King

The new-look Nets have only been together for a few weeks and there are still a lot of questions that remain about this team. One point that is undeniable though is that Kevin Garnett improves this defense enormously. Garnett is a defensive force not because of pure skill, athleticism and length, but also because of his brain. Garnett has been around the league and around again and again probably, so he constantly sees actions coming before they even happen. Garnett is screaming during games and telling people where to position themselves. For a team that ranked 18th in points per possession last year, it is highly likely that Garnett will dramatically change that statistic. Beyond that, Garnett also intimidates offenses. Known for his trash talking and rough play, Garnett makes you think twice before you drive to the paint. Lastly, Garnett also changes the culture for the team, that was centered around three players, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez, who were known for their offense rather than their defense. This team is now going to greatly appreciate and embrace the art of defense with Kevin Garnett and assistant coach Lawrence Frank as their masters.
