Brooklyn Nets Interested in Kyle Lowry

The Toronto Raptors are looking to ship off point guard Kyle Lowry as they continue to make changes to their roster. Frank Isola of the NY Daily News reports that the Nets, amongst others, are interested.
ESPN reported that the New York Knicks are currently trying to work out a deal with the Raptors. If a deal does fall through with the Knicks, it is expected that point guard Raymond Felton, who is injured and will be out for two-to-three weeks, will be shipped. Howard Beck of Bleacher Report tweeted that the Raptors are looking for a first round pick in return for Lowry. The Knicks, however, do not have a tradeable first round pick until 2018. Despite this, Howard Beck of Bleacher Report suggests that New York is the "most promising destination".

The Brooklyn Nets do not have a tradeable first round pick until 2020, so that is not going to work to their advantage. As of now, its not clear as to why the Nets would try to chase Lowry when they already have Livingston (who has been playing very well) and a budding Tyshawn Taylor. It's highly unlikely that Lowry comes in to replace Deron Williams, although with the amount of injuries Williams has been having, that may be why they are looking at Lowry; to fill in when he's out.

Even the Golden State Warriors do not have a close first round pick, as they traded their 2014  and 2017 pick to the Utah Jazz. Since teams cannot trade back-to-back first round picks, the earliest pick the Golden State Warriors can offer the Raptors will be their 2019 pick.

If the Raptors are looking for a first round pick, none of these teams will give them one anytime soon.

For the season, Kyle Lowry is averaging a career-high 14.6 points per game on 41.7% shooting from the field. He's also tying his career-high with 6.7 assists per game. He's shooting a solid 36.1% from three point range. This is all coming in 36 minutes of play a game, also a career-high.

UPDATE: Tim Bontempts of the New York Post tweeted that Raptors' GM is at the Fenerbahce Ulker game, which Nets Bojan Bogdanovic is playing in.
Bogdanovic has been lost in this conversation surrounding the Nets and Raptors and could be valuable trade piece if Billy King does try to make move. If anything, it could make up for the lack of first-round picks the the Brooklyn Nets have.
