Nets at Bulls Recap: Another Careless Night

This was a big game for the Nets. They had an half game lead over Chicago but they will battle to get that fifth seed back in the future.

First Half: Nets got off to an early 17 to 4 run lead by Deron Williams. Brook Lopez was the beneficiary, killing the Bulls with various moves. The pick and roll was in effect and Williams pocket passes were beautiful. Momentum was with the Nets early after two quick fouls and a technical. Joakim Noah was frustrated early and gave up 14  points to Lopez in the first quarter but he aided the Chicago come back. They would go on an 11 to 4 run and be down by three. Typical Nets basketball was the case and they would end up with 6  turnovers for the quarter. Part of it was Reggie Evans doing too much or (less), and the rest was just terrible decisions.  Chicago would finish with 13 for the half and  ended up leading by 14. The 15 to 0 run to end the half  was sparked by Nate Robinson. He left off with 10 and and Noah scored 15. Noah also held Lopez to zero points in the second quarter which was the key turnaround.

Second Half: The game got out of control for the Nets. Their offense struggled and the Bulls offense looked like the superior, despite missing Derrick Rose. Joakim Noah dominated both sides of the ball and basically was the leader of this comeback. Chicago shot 52% from the field . The Nets took about seven minutes to score and every point after that was hard to come by. Mirza Teletovic was put in late of the third quarter and provided some good minutes. He made a quick 5 points and also made plays for others. He finished with 7 and he was the only bright spot in this game. The Battle against turnovers was prevalent again tonight and Brooklyn gave up 21. That problem is getting bigger and bigger. They have a  17 and 21 record when they turn the ball over 14 or more times. Noah finished with 21 points, 5 assists, 4 blocks and 10 rebounds. Lopez finished with 22 points and 3 rebounds.
