Player Introduction: Kevin Garnett

Kevin Garnett is a sure-fire Hall of Fame inductee once he is eligible after his career ends. But for now, the Big Ticket is a Brooklyn Net, and he's here to help try and bring a title to Atlantic Avenue.

Garnett has made a name for himself in the NBA as one of the most intense players to ever touch the court. His toughness and aggressiveness have given him quite the reputation around the league. Garnett is also known for his antics on the court. Most recently, he got into an altercation with Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks over trash talk.

Besides his mental advantage over other players, Garnett possesses an incredible skill-set. With the Celtics, he was forced to play center after Boston traded Kendrick Perkins. Now that he is with a Nets team that already features an up-and-coming All Star center, Brook Lopez, Garnett is now able to play power forward again.

A player like Garnett can implement a whole new feeling in the locker room. His ability to be a leader on and off the court has its advantages. Garnett will serve as a mentor to Lopez. He will be able to teach him how to be a big man in the paint. Lopez isn't known as the best rebounder or help defender. Playing next to KG will help him learn to do these things.

Garnett, 37, is now near the end of his career. He has been in the league since 1995, so he will now be going into his 19th season. Though his age is up there, he can still play a huge role on the Nets. His minutes will be cut down a bit to help him make it through the entire season, but that's a given with any player that is deep into his thirties.

In the 2012-13 season, Garnett held averages of 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game in just 29.7 minutes per game. His playoff numbers were much more impressive. In 35.3 minutes per game, he averaged 12.7 points and 13.7 rebounds against the Knicks.

The most important thing Garnett brings to the Nets is his championship experience. He knows what needs to be done with a team of this caliber to make them win. The key word he used in the introductory press conference was "sacrifice." Each player will have to sacrifice something in order for this team to work, and Garnett believes it can be done.

"Wassup, Brooklyn?!"
