Jason Kidd was brilliant on the court back when he was a player.
I guess that cleverness made its way into his coaching career, just not the way we had hoped.
Vine user "Raafay" caught Kidd telling Tyshawn Taylor to hit him while he was holding a glass of water. That way, the game would pause for a bit while the mess was cleaned up, and the Nets were able to talk things over for a bit.
The Unofficial Timeout
According to The Brooklyn Game, Tyshawn Taylor said that the bump was accidental.

The Unofficial Timeout
According to The Brooklyn Game, Tyshawn Taylor said that the bump was accidental.
Taylor also denied that the spill was intentional. "Naw, I wasn't paying attention," Taylor said after the game. "I didn't even know he was holding nothing. Like, coach is drinking soda on the sidelines! I'm like 'What? What you doing?'"
Taylor acknowledged the benefit of the "accidental" spill. "It might ice a free throw shooter and be a time-out when you don't have one, but that wasn't the thought process. I was just coming out and he was in my way."Jason Kidd also commented on the situation.
Cup slipped out of my hand I was getting Ty," Kidd said. "Sweaty palms. I was never good with the ball."
"In the heat of the battle, you're trying to get guys in and out of the game, and the cup fell out of my hand."The NBA will definitely look into this.
