The 2013-2014 season has had its fair share of ups and downs for the Nets, but with their 10-2 record in January, they are the hottest team in the league. It's the play of Joe Johnson that stood out the most, and he's being rewarded for it by being selected to his seventh All-Star game appearance.
In his last 10 games, Johnson is averaging 18.3 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 47.9% from the field. Those numbers took a dip though, as his last four games have been awful. With games of 13 points, five points, six points, and 12 points, it looked like Joe had ruined his chances of making the All-Star game. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Joe made the game by the most narrow margin, barely beating out Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors.
It's tough to say if Joe deserved to be in the game. He has had himself a good stretch this month, but it's difficult to make a case for him beating out Aaron Afflalo of the Magic or Kyle Lowry. Regardless, Joe Jesus is headed to New Orleans.
