Nets' "Big Three" Placed on Trading Block

It looks as if the Brooklyn Nets may be ready to break up the core of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez. Marc Stein of ESPN reported today that the Nets have made the big three available to teams that are interested in their services.

Williams, Johnson, and Lopez have been the core of the Nets since their move to Brooklyn, and it was believed that together they would be able to bring an NBA Championship back to New York City.

With all three of them on the trading block, it looks like the Nets have accepted their failure of combining these three all-stars in their quest for a Championship.

All three players have massive contracts, and they're going to be extremely difficult to move. But the fact that they are on the block for the first time means that the Nets are pretty much ready to move on from this experiment.

With Brook Lopez, the Nets have to slow down on offense, and that leaves them exposed much of the time. Lopez may be the most likely candidate to be moved because he is still young, dominant in the low post, and cheaper than Deron and Joe.
