Kevin Love Out for 6-8 Weeks With Broken Right Hand

According to multiple sources, gold medalist and All-Star power forward Kevin Love will be missing for almost the first quarter of the season with a broken right hand. he is expected to miss six to eight weeks, a huge blow to a team already missing Ricky Rubio. It is reported that he broke his hand during a team workout on Wednesday.

Only 23 years old, Kevin Love is averaging 26.0 points per game to go with 13.3 rebounds, an insane stat that he has compiled. While rebounding is his major strength, defense has oft been a source for criticism. After adding defensive player Andrei Kirilenko to the mix and former offensive phenom Brandon Roy, the question for the Wolves is who will step up and replace Love's rebounding. That would be up to back-up and sophomore Derrick Williams to manage until the return of Love.

On a Nets related issue, this means the Brooklyn Nets will not face either Kevin Love or Ricky Rubio this season in Brooklyn, since their only meeting there is on November 5th. However, barring more injuries, the teams should square off healthy on January 23rd at Minnesota.
