Lots of injury news has been piling up for the last day or two. So let's get a quick briefing on what's going on.
MarShon Brooks
MarShon Brooks will be out for the next 7-10 days due to tendinitis in his right foot. Brooks is currently wearing a walking boot and will be re-evaluated on the weekend. Mike Mazzeo of ESPNNewYork.com quotes Coach Avery saying that the injury is not severe.
One of the five remaining Nets players from New Jersey, the sophomore Brooks is likely to miss the Nets first preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Brooks averaged 12.6 points and 2.3 assists on 42.8% shooting in just over 29 minutes a game. Brooks at one point was competing with Kyrie Irving in terms of points scored per game before getting hit with a foot injury back then.
Tyshawn Taylor
Taylor is injured with strained right quadriceps but has now returned to practice. However, the rookie was limited during the team's inter-team scrimmage on Thursday for cautionary reasons. He will not play in the first preseason game against the Sixers but the team hopes he will be back for Tuesday's match-up with the Boston Celtics
Josh Childress
Josh Childress had been out with left quadriceps contusions but returned to practice as well. Unlike Taylor, Childress was not restricted during the team's scrimmage.
Jerry Stackhouse
Stackhouse was excused from Wednesday's practice to have acupuncture treatment on his right leg. He also missed with Thursday's practice with a sore right knee. There are no details onto how long he will be out for, but it's likely just a one or two practice thing.

"We don't anticipate any long-term effects with this injury," Johnson said.
"If he comes out of the boot in two days, we rehab him for two days and then condition him, then maybe he can play at the end of next week, maybe the last preseason game at Nassau (Coliseum on Oct. 24), fine," Johnson said, "but that's really conservative."
