Despite winning their first ever regular season game at Barclays Center as the Brooklyn Nets, the team and fans had their first scare near the end of regulation. Gerald Wallace, with all his tenacity and energy, collided with Raptors' Kyle Lowry in an attempted block. Both players fell down, but Wallace stayed on the ground longer than Lowry. Replays showed that Wallace had twisted his ankle on the way down by stepping on Lowry's foot. He was taken out of the game, and got X-rays right away.
After having an injury-plagued season last year, fans and the team hoped that the misfortune would not continue this year. Thankfully, the x-rays came negative for any broken bones and his status is listed as day-to-day with a sprained ankle. It is possible that Wallace plays in the Nets next game against the Timberwolves on Monday, another home game.
