Nets vs Wizards Recap: The Toko-Motive!

The Nets decided to rest their starters and give the the second unit some extended minutes. Gerald Wallace was the only starter but he was eased in with only 21  minutes for the game. With the best players for the Nets sitting out, the game was definitely not in the nets favor. The Wizards took control early and managed to get C.J. Watson in foul trouble. Tyshawn Taylor replaced him but they could not stop the Wizards offense. Cartier Martin scored 9 in the first and they were all from deep. John Wall was able to get any where and he led the team to 35 points in the first. Andray Blatche did give the team a little energy but they were behind by thirteen.

Tornike Shengelia provided a much needed spark with a couple fast-break points including a put back dunk. Blatche also gave the Nets some highlights with no look shots and reverse layups. Gerald Wallace still did not attempt a shot and the Nets were still down but luckily it was only six. Brooks, Kris Humphries, and Blatche score in double figures while the Wizards displayed balanced scoring.

Both teams traded baskets but the Nets continued to cut the lead. Kevin Seraphin was a problem for the Nets Big men. Him and Humphries were battling but Blatche determined to embarrass the Wizards which was no surprise.  There were several times in the game where Blatche tried to take on the whole team. Most of them resulted in nice plays but he tries to be a point forward at times.

Shengelia played well tonight and so did Humphries. However, the Paint was wide open and the Wizards took advantage. The game was close but the inconsistency from the free throw line kept them behind. Taylor did pick up his play in the fourth quarter and so did the team. There was more of an team game and the Wizards lost the momentum.  The Nets ended up taking the lead thanks to Toko Shengelia. He did about everything on the court. He finished with a double-double and a plus minus stat of 19. Tyshwan Taylor hit the dagger from deep with 22 seconds left. The Wizards did not foul and conceded to losing. Blatche and Humphries combined for 40 points and 21 rebounds. The Nets held Wall to 5 of 19 shooting which was huge. I would like to start Shengelia start next game.
