Nets , Celtics agree To Deal

There were strong rumors of the Nets and Celtics making a blockbuster trade soon and it turned out to be true. The deal seemed to be done around the draft but both teams were waiting for Kevin Garnett to waive his no trade clause which he did.The trade involves the Nets sending Gerald Wallace,Kris Humphries,Kris Joseph, and three first round draft picks (2014,2016,2018).  The Boston Celtics send Paul Pierce, Garnett, and Jason Terry.

UPDATE !

Reggie Evans  MarShon Brooks and Keith Bogans are also apart of the deal . The Celtics will also have rights to trade their 2017 pick if the Nets are higher on the board.

After the Celtics let Doc Rivers go, the signs of rebuilding were imminent. As for the Nets, they're clearly in win now mode and will do anything to succeed. Mikhail Prokhorov and the Nets do not care about the  $80 million luxury tax . The window will probably be about two years though since Garnett is close to retiring. The projected starting five for the Nets would be the first team in NBA history to make at least $12 million annually.

The Nets had a bad post season and had some holes to fill which was a scoring small forward and a shooter. Garnett ,Terry and  Pierce are definitely past their prime but Deron Williams and Brook Lopez have a lot of years to go. They will be the go to guys and it will be important for Williams to change his game and become more of a playmaker instead of the hybrid point guard from past seasons. Next Season will be exciting and Brooklyn just put themselves in contention for a championship. This deal will not be official until July 10.
