Nets, Billy King Close to Agreeing to Extension

Before the Brooklyn Nets, Billy King made some questionable moves including trading for Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace. Williams was clearly unsatisfied with the situation in New Jersey and him leaving was clear as day after the Dwight Howard attempt failed. He also had a couple of mishaps in Philadelphia after falling short of an NBA championship. But nobody cares about that now because he managed to get Joe Johnson to come to the Nets, which made Williams and Wallace stay. Now they are a winning team in the playoffs and ready to win now and will simultaneously progress in the future.

With this years success, Billy King and the Nets have agreed on a three year extension according to Adrian Wojnarowski. He was one of the lowest paid general managers in the league but this extension will change things. This extension also kills reports of Phil Jackson joining the Brooklyn Nets organization.

The season is not over and Billy King will look better if the Nets can advance to the second round. Also, Mikhail Prokhorov made a statement saying the Nets are one player away from the elite status. King is clearly on board with that because he tried to get Josh Smith around the trade deadline.Maybe this will happen in the off-season?
