Many Complaints, Nothing Wrong With Kirilenko Signing

Recently, the Brooklyn Nets were featured in a small saga that involved one of their key additions this offseason in Andrei Kirilenko. There was speculation that there was more to the deal that simply wasn't explained.

Kirilenko turned down a $10 million dollar player option in Minnesota to come play for the Nets at the $3.18 taxpayer's midlevel exception. It may seem odd that Kirilenko would take such a pay cut, but even more that the Nets were able to afford him despite having inked Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

One NBA Owner told Yahoo Sports,
Let's see if the league has any credibility. It's not about stopping them, it's about punishing them if they're doing so.
After thorough investigation on the topic, it was concluded that there was nothing wrong with the signing.

If there was one team that wanted this issue investigate, it was probably the Knicks, considering considering that their rivals were moving forward. It's odd that a player like Kirilenko would take that much of a pay cut, but when you have the chance to win a title, nothing should be out of the equation.
