“Paul has a bounce in his step that I haven’t seen the last three years,” said Jason Terry. “He looks in phenomenal condition. But the thing is, it’s good to look great now, but we want to look great in May and June. So how do we maintain that? That’s going to be the challenge for us. But again, we’re ahead of the curve.”Pierce will be turning 36 in just over a week, so it was expected that he would be slower on his feet. This doesn't look to be a problem, though.
“We’re getting our feet wet, building a foundation,” Pierce said. “I’m excited to be here, excited for the opportunity to play with some other great players. And I’m definitely very, very motivated."Garnett is showing everyone his classic intensity already, as he left the facility without speaking with the media with permission from the team. KG was heard arguing trying to stay on the court longer for a drill.
“That’s when he should have already been off the court, 20 minutes earlier,” Terry said. “But that’s KG.”
“I understand why he doesn't want to sit,” Kidd said. “But as a competitor, you can only see so far. We get caught up in the now and we’re trying to help our team win. So I know how he feels. But I will make my opinion known to him when the time comes.”Garnett exited the practice facility while cameras were focused on Jason Kidd. He held a black hood over his head to help avoid making eye contact with anyone from the media.
KG is one of the most intense competitors to every touch an NBA court. His passion for the game of basketball was on full display when he argued about sitting for the remainder of a drill. No matter what age, Garnett wants to play basketball. Jason Kidd knows that Garnett must be limited to an extent, but KG will never sit down without letting his opinion be known.
