If Mason Plumlee thought he was done with Duke for the rest of his career, he was wrong. General Manager of the Nets, Billy King, a former Dukie who played for Coach K, decided that the Nets training camp will be at Duke University. For Plumlee, only a few months graduated from Duke, is back in the flesh at Duke, but not as the big college star on campus. Instead he is the rookie, learning the basics of the NBA from some of the NBA's best such as newly acquired teammates
Kevin Garnett and
Paul Pierce. Unlike his superstar role in Duke, Plumlee understands that there is a role for him on this team, but is not in the all-star role he had while playing in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Plumlee knows that he is going to be doing a lot of rebounding and running the floor. For this year, it will be a time of great growth and learning for Plumlee. Lucky for him, his new teammates such as
Deron Williams,
Jason Terry and even new Coach
Jason Kidd have been very impressed with his athleticism.
