Nets' Management Has Jason Kidd's Back During Early Struggles

Three wins and ten losses into the regular season, the fan base is starting to turn on the man they once used to adore. As the team unravels in the eyes of its fans and its opponents, Jason Kidd has been taking a solid portion of the blame for his apparent lack of coaching capabilities.

While the fan base may be looking to start the #FireKidd train, the Brooklyn Nets management is not turning on their new head coach. Not yet at least.

Ohm Youngmisuk and Marc Stein of ESPN NY reported that "Kidd continues to have the backing of his bosses with Brooklyn dealing with several injuries and other mitigating factors which have contributed to the poor start."

With the league's highest payroll, the Nets are currently performing at a level that's not quite parallel to the money being put forth. According to the same article, the concerns with this Nets squad stems from the difference in Kidd's and assistant coach Lawrence Franks' ideology.

While that is getting worked out, there had been concerns that players, especially the veterans, would not respect the authority of their head coach, who was a player just like them just last year. Sources of ESPN dispel these rumors immediately, however this could just be talk on the players' side as to keep the team together. Nobody, at least on this Nets squad, is going to outright say that they do not respect Kidd and his decisions.

With injuries bugging the Nets since the start of the season, Kidd has redirected the blame on himself and his "bad coaching". Veteran Kevin Garnett says that the blame should fall more on the players, the one executing (or in this case, failing to execute) on the court.

The Nets will continue to find ways to turn around this ugly start, and a lot of it will depend on Kidd's learning curve as a coach and how quickly he can sort things out, especially coming out of the halftime locker room.
