Brook Lopez helps Nets end losing skid; Nets win 90-82

After a very embarrassing loss to their cross-town rival Knicks, the Nets found themselves facing another Eastern Conference basement team in the Milwaukee Bucks. The Nets clearly had the roster to defeat the Bucks, but with the way things have gone this season, there really wasn't a such thing as an 'easy win'.

The first quarter was mostly positive for the Nets. Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson were sensational in the first quarter carrying the Nets to a 20-18 lead at the end of the first. The Nets were up as much as by five points in the first quarter.

The second quarter started off quite disappointingly as have many beginning quarters for the Nets. As the reoccurring theme has been throughout the first half of the season, the Nets began the quarter on a shooting slump, while the Bucks got off to a hot start. The Bucks went on a 9-0 run to begin the second quarter, and the Nets quickly found themselves down three. The Bucks began to heat up in the second quarter and seemed to hitting almost every shot on each trip down the court. However, the Nets maintained to keep the game close and entered the half trailing the Bucks by one entering the half. The Bucks entered the locker room up 40-39.

Entering the Nets worst enemy this season, the 3rd quarter, the Nets were hoping to snap out of their mental lapses and right their ship in tonight's game. In a rare occasion, the Nets outscored the Bucks 26-19 in the third quarter. While the Nets didn't play their best basketball, they did play well enough to outplay the Bucks. The Nets ran their offense through Johnson and Lopez basically all quarter, and quite frankly, it worked. The Nets needed this quarter quite honestly to win the game.

In the fourth quarter, the Nets just never looked back on their lead. For the majority of the quarter, the Nets led by double digits and this quarter, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson had help from other players such as Mirza Teletovic, Tyshawn Taylor, Alan Anderson and Andray Blatche.  The Nets began to play sloppier as the game progressed but the fact that their opponent were the Bucks gave them some leeway. Something we saw this game, especially in the 4th, was that the Nets' players stepped up when they needed to the most. Nets went on to win this game 90-82.
