Jason Kidd wouldn't commit to Deron Williams playing Jan. 20 against the Knicks. "Day by day."

The Nets have been like this all season, refusing to tell the public when they expect their players to return. In the meantime, we are left guessing if when he will be able to play. Last time he took the platelet-rich plasma injections, he returned in seven days and played at an All-Star worthy level. This time he gets about double that amount of time to rest, so one would think he would be able to participate in the match-up against the Knicks. But it is ultimately up to the doctors and the team to decide.
In the meantime, the Nets are tipping off the New Year's with a tremendous start. About half of those games were without Deron Williams, and they still continued to produce at a level that we had been expecting since the off-season. If they can keep this up with Deron Williams back in the lineup, the Nets could easily take advantage of a weak Eastern Conference to grab a higher seed.
But it depends on Williams' health.
