Nets Blowout Thunder in Home Opener
The Nets must be happy to play against a Thunder team without Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Brooklyn looked great tonight against the short-handed Thunder team. It seems like that opener against Boston never happened.
The Nets controlled this one throughout. There wasn't a doubt they'd pull this one out. Leading by 30+ points for a lot of the second half. Andre Roberson was injured late in the first quarter and he didn't return which left Oklahoma City with only 8 healthy players.
Brooklyn was led tonight by Deron Williams who had another good game with 17 points and 9 assists on 4/8 shooting. Nets fans held their breath when D-Will was limping late in the third quarter, but he seemed to be alright.
6 players were in double figures for Brooklyn tonight with Joe Johnson adding 13 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds as it's becoming apparent he will fill up the stat sheet this season. Bojan Bogdanovic added 12 points of his own.
Brooklyn had a whopping 52 points off the bench tonight led by swingman Alan Anderson who scored 18 points on 7/8 shooting in 16 minutes of action. Plumlee added 10 points and 8 boards and Teletovic added 8 more off the bench for Brooklyn. So, all in all, a very good game all-around for Brooklyn.
Also, Brook Lopez is back! In his first regular season game since December 2013, Lopez looked very solid. He struggled early as he picked up 3 fouls in just 4 minutes of action but then settled in nicely. Ending his night with 18 points and 6 boards in 24 minutes. Nets fans are happy to see a healthy Lopez.
This win puts the Nets at a 2-1 record. Next up for Brooklyn will be at home Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
