Invaluable Insight

The Brooklyn Nets are now looking to bring back the top prospects for Jason Kidd  which is smart move.  Gregg Polinsky, the Nets director of player personnel is on board with Kidd and looks forward to a different opinion on the players.

“Obviously we embrace it and welcome it, because of the type of player that he was, and his eye for the players and how they might fit and work for what he wants to do,” Polinsky said after the team held its latest workout at its practice facility Wednesday.

“It’s invaluable. It’s important. For him to have a feel about the guy and meet him, not just as much seeing him out here in this workout, because we have a ton of video he can watch, his staff, to get a feel of what they think. It doesn't disrupt the flow of what we're doing at all. I just think it adds another dimension that is very important for us to making a final decision.”

C.J. Watson opted out his contract and most likely will be looking elsewhere. I like Tyshawn Taylor and he may be a good player for the uptempo system Kidd would put in place but the scouts may not agree. Murray State point guard Isaiah Canaan was scheduled to workout in front of the Nets Wednesday but he was injured. He might be one of the players to come back but the Nets have not been specific on who will come . I don't believe Jerry Stackhouse and Keith Bogans will be in a Nets uniform so a small forward should be something to look at.

Right now it is unclear on who the Nets will draft but we have to trust Jason Kidd and the Nets organization. With the team bringing back prospects, it is a chance that one of them will be in Brooklyn. With the twenty-second  pick, the impact pact of a prospects left  will be rare so I wouldn't be surprised if the Nets were looking to trade for something better. I believe Kidd is intelligent so maybe he can help bring in the right player. There are two players who have been projected in multiple Mock Drafts for the Nets. Tony Mitchell from North Texas and Giannis Adetokoubo from Greece. Mitchell is an combo forward who has a seven foot three wingspan.  Watch out for those two.
