2015 NBA All-Star Game Coming To New York

The Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks rivalry has elevated to higher levels in the last two seasons. This has caused the city of New York to be respected for their performance rather than its  history for the game of basketball. With that, the NBA may be rewarding the city with 2015 NBA All-Star game. There hasn't been one since 1998 but there are things needed to be worked out.

The Nets,Knicks, and the NBA are working together to see who will Host which festivity. It is possible to have one arena hosting the Slam Dunk Competition and 3 Point Shootout , while the other arena hosts the actual game.

Here is NBA commissioner Adam Silver on the issue.
There is progress in that the teams are working together ... recognizing that it’s in both of their interests to create a basketball festival-type atmosphere around All-Star in New York, and so things are going well,” NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver said this week.

“We’ll work around it because we want to find a way for the most people possible to touch our All-Star Weekend, recognizing there is a capped limit on the number of people who can be in the arena,” Silver said. “We’re looking to work our way to build other events and to find a different way, a unique way to build Jam Session in New York.”
For some reason speculation of the rivalry between fans and players have to seemed to interfere with the business decision involving the two teams. Silver downplayed those rumors.
“On a business level the teams get along very well,” Silver said. “From Mikhail Prokhorov and Jim Dolan and then on the business side ... the nature of the sport is that the teams are highly competitive, and you want them to be, but they both recognize, too, that they’re partners in the league and this is something that is positive for both teams.”
Bringing the All-star game to New York would be great. The MLB All-star game was just played recently and The Super Bowl will be played in February. It will be perfect for the NBA to join and bring more attention to the city . Hopefully one of the Nets players will be starting in the event.
